New Zealand - Feb 27
February 27 - Monday
POL:
Today’s port of call was supposed to be at Napier. However, since Napier had been hit hard by cyclone Geraldine the city was not ready to receive a bunch of tourists as they were trying to dig out and begin to rebuild. So instead we are spending the day at sea.
At breakfast Robin and I shared a table with a couple from England and a couple from Germany. We had some very interesting conversations. I was impressed that even though the two couples were from other countries they were more aware of politics and subject matter on the US than a lot of our citizens are. And certainly more than US citizens are aware of what goes on in other countries around the world.
We spent the day doing whatever interested us (I spent the day trying to recover my blog). Dinner was good. There were the usual filet mignons, a New Zealand fish filet, and stuffed shells. For desert the most popular choice was Strawberries Romanoff. Which was strawberries with ice cream. Mmmm, mmmm.
