Austrailia - Mar 17

Mar 17 - Sydney

POL:
Today both couples went off on their own adventure.  But as it turned out we all went to the Botanical Gardens but at different times.  The gardens were spacious with many trees and open areas.  They didn't have a lot of flowering plants, but they did have a succulent garden that was well done.  I never knew there was red aloe or an aloe tree.
After the botanical garden we went through the museum of art.  There were some interesting pieces, but most of them were more contemporary, which did not really appeal to our tastes.
Before we all met up again in the afternoon we went through the old mint.  The mint was no longer used to mint coins, but the building was still intact and well preserved.  The building was originally a hospital, which was built for forty thousand gallons of rum, the currency of the day.  We wandered through Hyde Park on the way to the wharf.

Later in the afternoon we all met up at the wharf and took a harbor cruise.  Seeing the city from the harbor was interesting and gave a different viewpoint.

I chose a tex mex restaurant for dinner.  Then I took a wrong turn at Albequerque and we ended up at a german brew house for dinner (it was right next door).  Dinner was still good and now we know where the tex mex place is.  After dinner it was back to the hotel to wrap up the evening.

Tomorrow is another adventure.
